Beneteau First 38s5

TAGS:

Another Berret/Starck collaboration, the 38s5 from 1989 came in owners’ and charter versions. The former had double cabins fore-and-aft and two heads, the latter an extra aftercabin and single heads. Sliding trays in the galley make good use of the work surfaces but a similar device at the chart table is less effective. The saloon works well in harbour and at sea. Emeraldtinted ports and hatches, combined with deep red mahogany, can make the interior dark, but a lighter teak interior was an option. Just 115 were built.
