One of the few attempts by a British builder to produce a fast cruiser-racer catamaran, the 10.65m (35ft) Banshee from 1986 deserved greater success.

Undoubtedly a good performer, her accommodation, particularly the low bridgedeck headroom, counted against her. She has generous beam for stability and a big but not extreme rig, with daggerboards to boost her upwind performance.

The interior has an unusual layout with two large double cabins forward, extending into the forward end of the bridgedeck. There is a small single cabin at the aft end of each hull. In the main part of the bridgedeck is a small dining area and large chart table. The heads is in one hull and the galley in the other – both have full standing headroom.

The standard engine was a 9.9 outboard, but there was an inboard option. Banshees have completed many long-distance races and proved their seaworthiness and speed.
