Yachtsmen urged to check mooring lines
Yachtsmen are being urged to double-check their mooring lines after at least five yachts were blown ashore in Falmouth during the recent gales.
Three yachts ended up on rocks along Greenbank, by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
In some cases non-marine shackles had been used to secure lines and had failed after their threads had corroded. Ropes had also parted due to chaffing.
