British fleet looks strong for this summer's race

The third edition of the Calais Round Britain Race starts off Calais on Sunday 3 June. 11 entries are already confirmed, and Britain will be well represented, with Dee Caffari, Sam Davies and Jonny Malbon all signed up. Mike Golding has also announced that he will be working hard to make the start line aboard Open 60 Ecover.

The race organisers will announce which way the fleet will sail around the British Isles just days before the start, meaning that pre-race navigation and strategy will be limited for competitors. The fleet will be aiming to break Roland Jourdain’s record time of of 6 days 16 hours 43 minutes and 21, seconds, an average of 12.28 knots, set in 2005 aboard Sill.
