The Traditional Sail event will be held at Bangor from 18th to 20th August. Two tall ships are expected to join over 60 classic craft

The Old Gaffers Association announced that two tall ships, the Jean De la Lune and The Spirit of Fairbridge will be joining well over sixty classic craft at this year’s Traditional Sail event at Bangor.

The annual August event has changed dates this year and will now run from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th August. At least 45 craft of all shapes and sizes have already signed up, and the turn out is expected to surpass previous years.

The beautiful setting of Bangor Harbour will play host over the Traditional Sail weekend to the magnificent tall ships and old working boats that earned their living on the sea.

A special children’s painting competition is new for this year, with Bangor’s Primary School children painting their own imaginative version of “Traditional Sail”. As well as a model boat exhibition there will be an air sea rescue on Saturday 19th.
