Market shrinks by 50 per cent

French boatbuilder, Beneteau, has estimated its company is overstaffed by 1,590 positions because its market has shrunk by 50 per cent, reports IBI magazine.

They expect to lay off 600 workers in a recession they believe will last into 2010.

Beneteau have lost 2,700,000 hours of production so far in 2009.
