Your chance to helm the legendary boat

Sail on Gipsy Moth IV, the boat that broke so many records during Sir Francis Chichester’s solo circumnavigation of the globe. Rub shoulders with an important part of nautical history as you go to sea on this 53′ world famous yacht, and experience the charm and charisma of the ‘cantankerous’ old lady that bore Chichester home safely from his pioneering voyage.

In 1967 with Francis Chichester at the helm, Gipsy Moth IV sailed into the history books as she approached Plymouth on May 28th. No sailor had ever before sailed single handed around the world in such a short time.

Following Yachting Monthly and the UKSA’s campaign to restore and refloat her, Gipsy Moth IV has just completed her second circumnavigation, giving almost 90 young crew members across 32 legs of the voyage an experience they will never forget.

You can now sail on board Gipsy Moth IV, and in doing so contribute to the funding needed to help more young people benefit from the life changing experience that being on the water in this historic craft provides.
