The idea of a cruise in company is to help instil sailors with the confidence to venture further afield, in the knowledge that there are other boats on the same route who can offer advice and assistance. Although boats plan their own passages and travel at their own pace, there is a lead boat, skippered by the cruise organiser, on hand to answer questions and to help out generally.
