Folkestone office wins prestigious Queens Award

The National Coastwatch Institution Folkestone (NCI) has been awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

The voluntary organisation, which keeps a visual watch along UK shores, has received the award for ‘providing an outstanding service to the community in which they are located’.

The award is the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups or charities.

NCI Chairman Alan Richards (pictured) said: ‘Congratulations to Tony Hutt and his team for earning this honour, which not only recognises the valuable contribution which they make, but also reflects well on NCI as a whole.’

The Lord Lieutenant of Kent will present NCI Folkestone with an inscribed commemorative crystal and certificate later this year.
