Chris Parsonage Racing signs up to UK Fastnet 6.50
Chris Parsonage Racing has signed up as title sponsor of the UK Fastnet 6.50. As both the owner and the throttleman of the successful class 1 powerboatKing Of Shaves, Director Chris Parsonage is no stranger to the marine industry. Further details may be found on his website www.chrisparsonageracing.com
The 6.50 – aka Mini, is a 21-ft long boat that is raced solo across the Atlantic Ocean in the biennial Mini Transat. It is the smallest Open Class yacht and a spectacularly one at that. With 98 entries, the Mini Fastnet 06 brought the largest ever fleet of offshore racing yachts together on the starting line, with skippers ranging from professionals to pure amateur.
The notice of race and entry form is now online. They can both be found on the Royal Western Yacht Club’s web page by clicking here
Entries open on the 26th of February, and the event is limited to 50 boats. Any type of mini is welcome. The race has been sanctioned by Classe Mini meaning that miles completed in the UK Fastnet 6.50 will count as qualifiers towards the Mini Transat event later this year. Race Director for the event is Chris Arscott. Chris was the race director for the OSTAR 2005 and has no end of experience of short handed racing. With Chris behind the wheel the race is guaranteed to be a success. The Royal Western Yacht Club continue to work closely with the UK Mini Class to help promote the class and organise what is shaping up to be a fantastic race for this season.
