Three fleets and a host of parties lined up for Falmouth this August

Falmouth Week, once again sponsored by Henri Lloyd, runs from 11 – 18 August this year. The 8-day regatta, organised by The Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, is renowned by its variety and social scene.

There are three different fleets – large keelboats and multihulls race in the open space of the Bay; classic and traditional classes (including the famous Falmouth Working Boats and Sunbeams) fill the Carrick Roads; and dinghies race off Mylor and Restronguet.  Whilst the competition is strong, the organisers are careful to accommodate the fun competitor, including a special non-spinnakers class. Families and friends often make Falmouth Week part of their holiday, with something available for everyone, and plenty of entertainment ashore for the non racers.

Each day’s racing is hosted by a different sailing club, beginning on Saturday 11th August with the Falmouth Classics, and ending with the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at Falmouth on Friday (17th) who also host the end of Regatta grand Prizegiving, where there is £4000 of Henri Lloyd clothing to be won.
