Do you have a boat? The International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians has organised the 22nd Outing for Handicapped Children in Chichester Harbour for Friday 14th June 2002 and is asking for your help.

This year’s Children’s Outing has been arranged to fit in with the school curriculum and the Jubilee celebrations. The Fellowship is asking for help from boat owners who would like to offer children with disabilities the opportunity for a day’s sail. If you took part last year, you will know that it is an enormously rewarding day both for the children and for the boat owners.

The day’s format takes account of plans to anchor and raft up at East Head or another suitable anchorage for lunch at midday followed by some entertainment for the children.

Lunch Boxes will be provided for the children, whilst the boat owners will be asked to provide soft drinks. The carers will bring their own food.

There will be a Social Evening on the Friday for those who participated as a way of saying “Thank you” to the boat owners. The Sussex Fleet also have a rally to Bembridge over the Saturday/Sunday and participants in the Children’s Outing would be welcome to join the cruise and a barbecue on the beach; full details will be sent to those taking part in the outing.

If you are a boat owner and would like to participate, please contact Mrs Margaret Hale by phoning 01435 883571, who will send you an entry form.
