Boat Show opens tomorrow

The 39th Southampton Boat Show at Mayflower Park not only plays host to some amazing boats, but visitors to this year’s Show will also be among some very distinguished company.

HRH The Princess Royal and Sir Keith Mills, Team Principal of TEAMORIGIN?, will be in attendance, and will be joined by well-known faces from the sailing community including Olympic Gold Medallist Ben Ainslie MBE, Alex Thomson, Mike Golding OBE, Dee Caffari, Dame Ellen MacArthur and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.

The feature boat line up at the show includes world class yachts sailed or owned by famous names Sir Keith Mills, Mike Golding, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Sir Francis Chichester and Alex Bennett will be displayed throughout Show on the Hydropool Marina.

Visitors hoping to spot familiar faces from the world of entertainment will not be disappointed; Coronation Street stars Simon Gregson and Sue Cleaver (AKA Steve and Eileen) will be paying the Show a visit, along with ITV Meridian presenter Fred Dinenage. The Southampton Boat Show will also play host to Tim Seely, the last surviving cast member of the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty, who will have an emotional reunion with HMS Bounty.

The Southampton Boat Show at Mayflower Park runs from 14 to 23 September. For the first time at the Southampton Boat Show, kids aged 15 and under get free admission – provided they are with a paying adult.
