Round the Island weather information available soon!

Round the Island Race sponsor Raymarine is giving competitors the opportunity to receive free emails and SMS texts containing useful weather and tidal information in the run up to the race.

With the help of marine meteorologist Chris Tibbs, Raymarine will be providing daily weather briefings from 20 June, enabling crews to see the developing weather patterns up to the start of the race.  Chris will also present a full and detailed weather briefing at the Island Sailing Club at 1800hrs on 22 June for competitors and the club race officers and safety boat crews – YM will be there to update you on the latest information if you can’t make it.  Chris will use Raymarine’s RayTech RNS 6.0 navigation software to demonstrate the weather forecast for the following day, complete with the progression of tides, currents, wind speed and direction for the Isle of Wight and surrounding waters.
