Mukti's engineless microyacht continues trip around the British Isles

Glasgow is the next port of call for environmental campaigner Mukti Mitchell as he continues his voyage round the British coast to promote low carbon living aboardChance, his self-built engineless microyacht.

Mukti will be sailing up the Clyde on Friday May 25, joined on the water by a traditional Scottish Longboat and Glasgow Sea Scouts. The flotilla will land at Glasgow Science Centre at 1900hrs.

Launched in Clovelly, Devon, this Easter, Mukti’s tour has visited over 15 ports up the west coast of the UK so far. Glasgow looks set to be the tour’s biggest landfall to date: not only with the warm welcome of the rivergoers escorting him in on Friday evening but also with the whole of Saturday dedicated to an event at St Enoch’s Square in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre.

From 10am till 5pm there will be displays of low-carbon products from insulation to bicycles, solar panels, recycling, local holidays, local food, art and recreation.
