Ocean Signal rescueME PLB3 AIS Personal Locator Beacon
The Ocean Signal rescueME PLB3 AIS is the world’s first personal locator beacon (PLB) to include Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Near Field Communication (NFC).
The merging of 406 MHz and AIS distress messaging effectively pairs both global and local rescue, thereby maximising access to the most effective rescue resources available.
In addition, NFC capability provides users with the world’s first smartphone-connected PLB and the all-new Return Link Service feature provides users with the comfort of knowing that their distress message has been received and their location detected.
It is designed to be installed within a lifejacket and is automatically activated upon inflation of the jacket, and has all of the design traits and functional capabilities to minimise rescue response times. The rescueME PLB3 won the Overall DAME Design Award 2022.
