Yachtsmen at Brighton Marina are considering barricading the entrance as a protest over 100 million (sterling) plans to turn the place into a mini-village.

Parkridge Developments want to spend the money building houses, bars, restaurants and shops. But members of the Brighton Marina YC say the development will ‘ruin’ the marina itself.

Members of the club are based in temporary premises and have now learnt that their proposed permanent base at West Quay is earmarked for development.
