A 31ft yacht was driven ashore at Newquay, Cornwall this morning.

The UFO 31 had been anchored out in the bay.She drove ashore under north-westerly winds.

An attempt to protect her starboard side from damage was made with the deployment of fenders.

A spokesman for Falmouth Coastguard said: ‘No-one was on board.’
