Boat Show briefing

Yachting Monthly’s start technical columnist Nigel Calder will speak at the 13th Blue Water Seminar on 18 September 2010, during Southampton Boat Show.

Some of the topics included are: personal preparation, characteristics of the ideal boat, yacht preparation and equipment, finance and budgeting and sailing the dream.

“Our seminar this year offers real value for money and those who attend will not be disappointed,” says Richard Bolt, director at Blue Water Rallies. “Alongside the expert advice from Nigel Calder on a variety of topics including selecting and buying a boat, and electrical systems and power generation, delegates will hear first-hand from yachtsmen who have already circumnavigated the world, as well as from Blue Water Rallies non-executive director Peter Seymour who will share his extensive knowledge on counteracting piracy, emanating from his masterminding of eight previous navigations of the Gulf of Aden.”

The one-day seminar starts at 10am and will be held in the Solent University Conference Centre in central Southampton during the Boat Show and tickets to attend cost £30 per person. To find out more and to apply for an entry form please visit www.bluewaterrallies.com or call Tel: 01983 740239
