Charity sail

Boatbuilder Will Stirling and wife Sara sailed their 14ft wooden clinker dinghy from the Mount Batten Centre in Plymouth to the Eddystone Lighthouse and back, a round trip of 24 miles.

Both experienced mariners, the couple decided to undertake the trip in order to prove the seaworthiness of their latest vessel – and to raise funds for the WaterAid charity.

A total of £555 has so far been raised, which will go to help the international non-governmental organisation to improve access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Pacific region.
