Antarctica on the shrink

Glaciers are shrinking in Antarctica as temperatures there have risen by an average 2 degrees Celsius since 1955.

A staggering 87 per cent of the 244 marine glaciers there have shrunk according to the British Antarctic Survey.

Global warming is believed to be the cause, but scientists are not yet certain that the burning of fossil fuels is to blame.
