Nautors Swan have just launched their 45ft beauty

Nautor has launched the first Swan 45 from its Finnish base in Pietarsaari. This German Frers designed model is viewed as a landmark development as it features the luxury interior associated with Nautor’s Swan, inside a high performance racing yacht.

The German Frers designed model sees Nautor return to their roots by revisiting the mid-size yacht arena, but utilising the leading technology developed so successfully for the new generation of larger models such as the Swan 70 and Swan 80.

In addition to being highly competitive within the IMS and IRC classes, the Swan 45’s efficiency and simplicity of the rig and sailplan ensure that it will be enjoyable and easy to handle as a shorthand cruising yacht.

With the launch of the Swan 45, comes the advent of Nautor’s first One Design Series. The series will commence in 2003 and will provide an international stage for the Swan 45 to prove its ability on the race course as well as on the cruising circuit.

The Swan 45 prototype will be present at the Hamburg Boat Show, from 27 October to 4 November 2001. From there, the boat will be moved to the U.K. for further sail testing in The Solent.
