The Met Office is trialling a supercomputer which fills halls the size of two football pitches in order to give us more accurate weather forecasts.

The IBM supercomputer has the same power as 100,000 PCs and is based in Exeter.

High resolution computer simulations will provide more detailed short-term weather forecasts.
