Four people in 360ft cliff ordeal

Four people – two men in their twenties and two women aged 19 – caused a major air-sea rescue when their bid to climb down cliffs near Swanage went wrong.

Both a chopper and a lifeboat went to the scene, but the helicopter became seriously low on fuel as the would-be climbers had got themselves stuck in a place which was difficult to extricate them from.

‘These cliffs are very dangerous nad we would advise people against scaling them, a Coastguard officer said.
