Trips available on former royal yacht
The royal racing yacht Bloodhound, once owned by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be available for charter for six weeks this summer between July and August.
Crewed by the Royal Yacht Britannia’s former crew, known as the ‘Yotties’, the yacht will be based at Oban Marina to sail the routes once taken by The Duke of Edinburgh and the royal family, including Prince Charles and Princess Anne, who learned to sail on Bloodhound during their annual family holiday in the Western Isles, on Britannia.
The 63 foot, fully-restored Bloodhound will be berthed at Oban Marina, during which time she will be available for day charter for groups or individuals who wish to step back in time aboard this icon of British sailing.
Bob Downie, Chief Executive of the Royal Yacht Britannia is delighted to be bringing Bloodhound back to the West Coast again this summer.
‘This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to step back in time,’ he said.
