Single-handed yachtsmen rowed ashore believing his yacht was sinking: it wasn't
A solo German yachtsman was on passage from Chichester to Dover when he abandoned his ‘sinking’ sloop and rowed ashore, knocking on a lonely door at 01.00 hours.
He was taken to Ashford Hospital, Kent suffering from hypothermia and a broken rib.
His boat, Moonstrike, was found ashore at Dungeness and towed to Dover by lifeboat.
