The benefits of building boats with composite materials: a conference

BMIF members are invited to attend a workshop on ‘ Design and production guidance for FRP composite materials in boat building applications’ to be held on Wednesday, 30 January 2002 at the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in London.

The overall aims of the project on composite materials, being conducted at the University of Southampton are to increase awareness of the potential for the use of advanced composite materials for structural applications in ship and boat structures.

The purpose of the January 2002 workshop is two-fold: 1. to inform the ship and boat building industry, consulting engineers, materials suppliers and owners on composite materials, and 2. to provide an opportunity to influence the direction of research.
