Ships go slower following MCA report on OUZO

Commercial shipping on the River Thames has reduced speed from 12 to four knots following the Maritime & Coastguard Agency report into the sinking of the Sailfish 25 sloop Ouzo and the loss of her three crew.

Yacht delivery skipper Max Lieberson said that ships were moving noticeably more slowly in several reaches of the Thames.

‘This is a good thing and I hope all yachtsmen will respect what is going on and not cut closely across the bows of ships.’
