Ship loses consignment of arsenic

Sixty-three drums filled with arsenic which fell off a ship in the North Sea have sparked a fishing alert.

Trawlers have been advised by the Dutch Coastguard not to fish in the area concerned off the coast of north Holland.

The steel drums which are red are marked with the words ‘toxic’ and ‘marine pollutant’.

The ship also lost three containers which have been located on the sea-bed.
