Police and Coastguard rescue boat thieves

Grampian police and Aberdeen Coastguard were involved in rescuing three youths who had taken a rowing boat from Cove Harbour two miles south of Aberdeen.

They had been heard shouting for help as two other of their number were marooned on nearby rocks.

The sea temperature was 10 degrees Celsius and would have proved fatal had any of them fallen in.
