Gran Canaria to Gran Canaria?

Sailing schoolboy Mike Perham, the sixteen-year-old from Potters Bar, Herts who is planning to become the youngest person to sail solo, around the world, still hopes to make the trip a non-stop voyage.

His autopilot spares are being flown out to him in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, where he made his second stop with steering problems.

'I can't wait to get away again. I just need to be on the water - it's where I'm most happy. Cross your fingers that the AP gets fixed and I can start non-stop from Gran Canaria to Gran Canaria. This is it, this is the last chance,' he said.
