Sailors wanting training in preparation for their summer charter now have an alternative to RYA training with International Yacht Training qualifications aimed squarely at charter skippers.

Holiday company Ocean Elements are offering one-week courses in Vasiliki, Greece at their Beach Club. The International Flotilla Skipper course is suitable for those with limited sailing experience, while the International Bareboat Skipper course is aimed at sailors with at least one charter holiday under their belts, or 200 miles and 10 days logged.

The five-day courses are taken on a training yacht in Vasiliki, based out of the Ocean Elements Beach Club. Families can join on board for the course, or can use the hotel and beach facilities instead. Courses will be run with five pupils and one instructor.

Included in the price (£799pp, or £399 for Stay Sail guests) is your VHF radio licence and IYT subscription for 5 years.
