International Folkboat

In 1967 lord Sunde” was commissioned to bring the
Folkboat up to date for the glassfibre age. He gave her
a little more length, height in the topsides, wider
beam and deeper draughl She also had 500lb more
baJlastAesthetically, she had a long, low
coachroof so internal volume was only slightly
greater and the accommodation was still
cramped with sitting-only headroom. She has a simple, four-berth accommodation with a rudimentary galley and
heads. She was well built and finished by Marieholm in Sweden
where around 1000 are in existence. In some areas she races as a
class but she was never accepted by the Folkboat Association for in·
class competition.
