Twenty years ago, in 1990, YM editor Paul Gelder had a blue-water baptism - sailing from the Azores to Plymouth aboard the famous 32ft round-the-world ketch Suhaili, with skipper Robin Knox-Johnston. His report on the adventure, published later that year is reproduced here.
