Swanwick Marina on the Hamble river will open its new £6million boatyard development on Easter Monday

Premier Marinas, owner of Swanwick Marina on the Hamble river, will officially open it’s new boatyard development at an opening ceremony on Easter Monday 6 April at 1420, with events and entertainments from 1400 to 1800. The event will coincide with the marina’s annual boatshow, which is also running over the Easter weekend.

The development, which has cost £5.8m, aims to update the original 1970’s boatyard with purpose built accommodation for a range of marine services, as well as the brand new hoist bay,  specialist forklift, new fuel pontoon with high-speed pump, waiting pontoon and a dry stack for boats up to 11 metres. There are now also storage units and a modern marina reception with luxury berth holder and tenant facilities.

Businesses now resident at Swanwick Marina include Knight Frank property consultants, Keto Marine, Hamble (Boat & Rib) Centre, Hendy Marine and RYA accredited sailing school, Urban Truant. On-site boat brokers Sea Ventures, Ancasta, Princess, Sunseeker. MiCats and Clipper will also have a range of new and used boats to view, plus electronics business, Landau will be exhibiting Garmin, Raymarine and Navico roadshow trailers, offering demonstrations and expert advice.

On the day, Force 4 chandlery will be extending its opening hours from 0900 until 1830. Representatives from the RNLI will be in attendance, offering berth holders and guests’ free lifejacket checks throughout the afternoon. There will also be dancers, a jazz band, the Warsash Sea Cadets and a hog roast.
