39 footer designed to fit in container

The first boat designed to fit in a container, so that her owner can cut out the nasty bits of a circumnavigation, is being launched in the US.

The Far Harbour 39 ft motorsailer designed for a cruising couple, will fit into a standard shipping container.

Designed by Robert H Perry and built by Container Yachts of Newport, Long Island the Far Harbour 39 has a 7.4-foot beam, to fit into the confines of
a shipping container that measures 40 feet by 8 feet. The boat is designed
so it can be loaded and unloaded using standard boatyard equipment.
