Port Solent Marina, the third biggest marina in the country, has got a new manager.

Dan Hughes, 34, has recently been appointed the new Marina Manager of Port Solent. The third largest marina in the UK, Port Solent has 900 berths and is owned and managed by Premier Marinas. Having managed Sovereign Harbour for the last ten years, Dan brings a wealth of experience with him. His new role involves the management of the marina and its facilities as well as the business and administrative aspect of the organisation.

Dan’s career began in 1989 as a trainee manger at Gosport Marina. Since then worked at Neyland Marina in Pembrokeshire and Amble Marina in Northumberland before returning to the South Coast in 1993. In 1999 Dan qualified as the youngest Certificated Marina Manager in the world at the time.

Dan is a keen sailor himself and said of his new position: “I am looking forward to using my experience in a new challenge. Premier Marinas is a professional company focusing on the customer. Port Solent is the flagship for the group and I am delighted to be running it.”
