Ancient creek gets facelift for visiting yachtsmen

Faversham Creek in Kent might dry out to a meagre dribble of Thames Estuary water, but once you are there the wandering yachtsman is rewarded with a charming town where 500 of its medieval, Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings are listed.

And now the local council has spent £110,000 refitting the Front Brents jetty where yachts can lay. It now sports new decking, lighting and safety equipment.
