On 1 October, the team at London chandlers Arthur Beale will be demonstrating how to make your own rigging and wire rope terminals, and are offering hands on experience for free

The Shaftsbury chandler Arthur Beale will be demonstrating the correct method of terminating wire ropes for rigging using Nicopress Ferrules and Tools. The different types of wire ropes available will be explained, and there will be a short description of all the termination options including ferrule secured eyes using their hydraulic press and roll-swaged fittings. There will be a hands on session with Nicopress tools. Attendees will learn how to calculate the correct Working Load Limit and Breaking Load for one of the wire assemblies they make and put it to a destruction test to prove the point. It should be informative and fun.
