Jodie Kidd and a watersports display kick things off

The 2011 London Boat Show will open tomorrow with model and sportswoman Jodie Kidd cutting the ribbon, after a watersports display on the show’s new indoor pool.

The 70m x 24m pool will be the show’s centrepiece with demonstrations and visitor participation and the opening display will combine kayaking, wakeboarding and stand-up paddleboarding stunts.

Andrew Williams, managing director of National Boat Shows said: ‘The new-look 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show promises to be an action-packed 10 days and Jodie, with her sporting credentials, along with our host of watersports professionals will provide a fitting opening.

‘The show returns this year with an array of brand new features, attractions and regular favourites, around 1,000 boats and more than 540 exhibitors, making it an unmissable day out.’

X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson will also be at the show, launching two new Sunseekers, which are part of 13 boats taking their global bow and 23 making their UK debut.

Yachting Monthly contributors Tom Cunliffe, Nigel Calder and Dr Simon Keeling are among those appearing at The Knowledge Box, the stand to learn from sailing experts. Mike Golding, Geoff Holt and Jim Saltonstall will also speak there.

Show tickets can be booked through www.londonboatshow.com or via the ticket hotline on 0871 230 7140. They cost £13 in advance or £18 on the door and each ticket admits one adult and two under-15s.
