Sailors are being invited to join the annual cross channel sailing rally from the South Coast to the beautiful island of Alderney and help raise money for national sailing charity, the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST).

31st May – 2nd June The Routes des Moules is a fixed time 12-hour race setting sail from Cowes and is being organised by the Royal Thames Yacht Club including IRC, Cumberland (local handicap) and Sail and Power divisions. The finishing line will be the Alderney Sailing Club line in Bray. Entry Fees: ‘25.00 per boat and ‘20.00 per person including supper.

2nd June Once in Alderney there is an opportunity to join the Round the Island Race being organised by the Alderney Sailing Club followed by an exclusive champagne reception and supper. The champagne reception will begin at 1900 followed by a supper of the famous ‘Russell’s Mussels’, a fundraising auction and disco.

Russell Greenstock, Chairman of the Alderney branch of the JST said “The Routes des Moules offers visiting yachtsmen the challenge of crossing the Channel, together with the charm and the peace of island life. This is one of many events that we hold to help raise funds and the profile of the JST, and I guarantee it will be an action packed weekend with plenty of fun for all! “

All proceeds will be donated to the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a national charity which enables able bodied and physically disabled people to crew its two specially designed tall ships, the LORD NELSON and TENACIOUS on equal terms.
