Sailforcharity racing for Ellen MacArthur Trust

A group of sailors is setting its sights high at Cowes week this year to raise money for the Ellen MacArthur Trust.

Led by Manchester-based couple Andy and Karen Crosland, Sailforcharity raises thousands of pounds each year for a nominated charity. This year they will be sailing on board a Beneteau 40.7, Anticipation, in Class 4 at Cowes Week. Having just secured a major sponsor to cover expenses, each crew member in the team receives sponsorship, which goes directly to the team’s chosen charity.

Last year SailForCharity raised over £10, 000 for the EMT. Skipper Peter Newlands says of the challenge, “It’s an honour to race with this crew – they are dedicated sailors with a common goal – to raise as much cash as they can whilst working hard to become top of their class. This year we hope to come in 1st!”
