The world’s number one international design competition for new marine
equipment and accessories, the DAME awards held at METS, has announced
the category nominees for 2013.

The internationally acclaimed DAME awards that recognises design,
originality and ergonomics in marine innovation has seen over 110 entered
products from 12 countries, of which 25 products have been shortlisted
from UK companies. It has been announced that 12 British Marine
Federation (BMF) members are among the category nominees.

Energy Solutions, Raymarine UK, Henri Lloyd, Scanstrut Ltd, Cooney Marine
International Ltd, Garmin, Trend Marine International Ltd, SeaSmart
Marine Ltd, Oceanair Marine Ltd, Spinlock, Standard Horizon and Navico
were all carefully assessed and selected by the DAME Jury.

BMF International Committee Chairman Tom Reed commented; “It’s great to
see such a strong showing for UK companies in DAME this year. This is a
great testament once again highlighting the capabilities of design,
innovation and expertise within the UK marine industry.”

The Overall Winner and Category Winners will be announced at a special
Breakfast Briefing on Tuesday 19 November at 8.00am. Throughout METS all
of the short-listed products will be on display in the DAME display area
located in the entrance of Holland Complex (entrance C).

The DAME awards also coincide with the official trade visit of Sir
Geoffrey Adams, British Ambassador to the Netherlands who will be
attending the show on Wednesday 20 November to visit some of the
shortlisted DAME entrants. This further highlights the continuing work of
the BMF to promote the British marine export industry and directly engage
with the officers in discussions about how their service can provide
greater support for UK companies looking to export to the Netherlands.

The BMF will be hosting the British Pavilion at METS 2013 in Hall 3,
Stand 321. For further information on the British Pavilion at METS please
