Robin Knox-Johnston to host fund-raising dinner in memory of late wife

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston is hosting an exclusive auction dinner at Plaisterer’s Hall in the City of London on behalf of the The Eve Appeal and Macmillan Cancer Relief on 26 April 2006.

The dinner will raise funds for The Eve Appeal, founded in 2005 for research into ovarian cancer. Robin’s wife, Sue, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2001 and later died from the disease.

Auction prizes include a bag made by a celebrity designer from one of Suhali’s sails (the yacht Sir Robin sailed around the world); a day’s sailing with Sir Robin for 12 people; a bottle of champagne taken around the world by Ellen MacArthur; one week’s fishing on the Teign River in Devon.

The dinner is at Plaisterers Hall, City of London. Tickets are £125 each. Call Macmillan London Events on 0207 795 0055.
