Southampton Boat Show 2016 promises to host an array of new boats and attractions this September

Southampton Boat Show will run from 16-25 September 2016 and will host over 60 boats new to the show this year. Four of these will be brand new yachts that have never been seen at a show before, including boats from Hanse, Oyster, Spirit and X-Yachts. There will also be an array of boats new to Europe as well as Southampton, alongside a range of new attractions.

This year, the three-masted barque Artemis will be tied up in the marina, along with hundreds of other boats in the show marina, with over 2km of pontoons to explore. There’ll be plenty of chances to get afloat with Try-a-Boat and Get Afloat, as well as Bumper Boats (with built in water canon) for the younger generation. The festival stage will host live music, fashion shows and expert talks throughout the 10 days of the show, and there will be an attempt to complete Guinness World Record for ‘the largest human image of a boat’ on Saturday 24 September.

For cruising sailors, Clipper Marine will be hosting 14 boats to explore, including seven new models of power and sail boats, including the Bavaria Cruiser 46 and 51 Style models. These Farr-designed yachts aim for a feeling of luxury and style below decks, and improved deck layouts with extra large bathing platforms. Two and three-cabin versions of the Bavaria Cruiser 34 will also be on display, with its new two-wheel deck layout.
