Navy warn sailors to 'steer clear'

A yacht has been hijacked by pirates working from mother ship approximately 282 miles southeast of Sur, Oman.

The Royal Navy are warning sailors to avoid transiting the area if possible. If necessary to transit these waters, mariners are encouraged to be vigilant.

Paul and Rachel Chandler were released last year after more than 12 months in captivity. They had been sailing a Rival 38, Lynne Rival. They sold their story for £500,000 and are now preparing a book on the ordeal.
