Oz Robinson dies

Former RCC director dies aged 83

Oz Robinson former intelligence officer and Director of the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation from 1985-1995 has died  aged 83. He was awarded the RCC medal for services to cruising in 1993 after using his military contacts to fly over the coasts of Spain and Portugal which produced the first yachtsman's pilot book with full colour aerial photographs. This was soon to become the norm. When he retired from the RCC in 1995 the foundation - which he had revitalised - had 17 publications, a team of volunteer editors and new work in the pipeline. He is survived by his wife Faith, and a daughter and two sons.
