A lifeboat crew carried out their first sheep rescue on Sunday. The animal was carried down the River Clwyd towards harbour in the seaside resort of Rhyl.
Its farmer-owner tried to rescue it, but, stuck up to his knees in mud, he dialled coastguards who called out Rhyl's RNLI boat crew. The crew then rescued the sheep, which had drifted a quarter of a mile further down river.
