Flare alert

Pains Wessex has ordered a TOTAL recall of its white collision warning flares (MK7), number 52651. This follows their own investigations into what was thought to be a 'rogue' batch, one of which seriously injured a Yachtmaster Instructor (see YM June out this week).

Pains Wessex fears that 'some of these white flares will not fire as intended'. The flare is old individually and also as part of the Collision Warn-Off Kit and the ORC RORC Distress Kit.

Yachtsmen should return the flares to their nearest chandler or contact Pains Wessex on 02392 623962 or email recall@pwss.com
