Mystery of 'missing' cyclist

Solent Coastguard mounted a serach for a cyclist believed to have fallen from the Southampton to Hythe ferry.
The cyclist had a red reflective flashing light attached to his back. The master of the ferry noticed, after the passengers disembarked, a similar light flashing in the water.
But after an extensive search nothing was found.
